Reset your password in Ubuntu

Forgot Your Ubuntu Password

1. First, Start Ubuntu and gurb loading than press "Esc" button

2. Than select the Ubuntu Recovery Mode and press Enter button

3. Display the Recovery Menu ( following image ) and select Root - Drop to root shell prompt and press Enter button

4. Open the Root Command Prompt. Type the Following Command :-

First Command

root@pravin:# ls /home

pravin

Second Command

root@pravin:# passwd username

e. g. - ( passwd pravin )

and Type your New Password.

Third Command

root@pravin:# exit

Press Enter

5. Returned to Recovery Menu and select the resume normal boot Press Enter

6. Enjoy the New Password and Ubuntu
